McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act
Services for Families
- Comprehensive family support and advocacy to break down barriers that might cause further
homelessness.
- Family Advocates to serve as school liaisons that are able to accompany/transport families
to school placement meetings or conferences.
- Information on community resources, counseling, health resources, child development, basic
needs assistance, housing counseling, and social services as needed.
- Transition assistance for families who are no longer homeless (transition occurs for a
period of a few weeks, then services are continued as needed).
