McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act

Services for Students

• Immediate services at a school of their choice under the McKinney Act. Lack of school records or immunization records cannot be a barrier to immediate school services.


• Transportation arrangements for homeless students.


• Tutorial services as needed, either after school or during the school day for students K-8.


• Summer camp program focusing on peer mediation, leadership, and academic skills.


• Assistance in getting students settled in a new school for those moving with MCPS schools.


• Help transferring student records and information to receiving school for those leaving the district.
