Jobs for Tomorrow
Non-traditional Career Outreach and Education
Jobs For Tomorrow works to raise awareness and promote nontraditional career opportunities for
youth 14-25 years old. We educate young people about occupational growth sectors that can lead to
high-wage, high-skill employment. We also identify and support youth who have an interest in
nontraditional training and employment by linking them with mentors and employers in nontraditional
fields. Presentations in high schools, programs and other community locations give youth the
opportunity to see men and women in nontraditional careers through panels and workshops addressing
the challenges and rewards of nontraditional careers.
Jobs For Tomorrow, nontraditional Career Outreach and Education, is a project of Women's
Opportunity and Resource Development, Inc., funded through a grant of the Carl D. Perkins Act and
the Montana State Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education.
How Jobs for Tomorrow can help:
- Present workshops and panel presentations in local high schools, programs that serve youth,
and other community locations.
- Link youth with mentors and employers in nontraditional fields.
- Organize "Survival Skills" workshops for girls and young women interested in nontraditional
occupations that prepare them for the challenges and rewards of nontraditional employment.
- Hold an annual "Career Rodeo" that highlights hands-on experience
with nontraditional occupations.
